The next two months are full of opportunity for Empower, as God has opened doors for us to teach New Man, New Woman, New Life at several locations in Africa.
Because of our “train the trainer” model, local pastor partners will be leading the seminars. We’ve found this is a very effective way to teach the content. As always, we only go where we are invited, and when possible, use a local pastor partner to teach.
Pastor Frank Tweheyo, Empower’s African Program Director, and other African partners have several seminars scheduled during May and June. We would appreciate your prayers, specifically:
- strong attendance at the seminars
- safety for Pastor Frank as he travels
- provision of funding for Pastor Frank’s travel expenses
- that participants’ hearts, minds, and actions would be changed as a result of the seminars
If you’d like to help us financially, consider making a donation to offset Pastor Frank’s travel expenses. He resides in Uganda but will be traveling to Mozambique and Kenya to help put on the seminars. We anticipate his travel costs to be around $1000. Click here to go to our donation page.
We have seen this seminar change the lives of couples and their families in profound ways. We never charge the participants a fee to attend. But there are obviously expenses related to putting on the seminar. This includes workbooks and all printed materials, food, facility rental and more. Again, donations to defray our costs are always welcome.
The New Man, New Woman, New Life seminar allows participants to work through Bible studies showing God’s ideal to be one of equality, mutual respect, and self-giving love. Our format allows participants to make their own cultural applications, and prepares them to take the life-giving message back to their own households, churches, and communities.
We will be presenting the New Man, New Woman, New Life seminar at the following locations:
Nampula, Mozambique, the week of May 22.
Nairobi, Kenya, June 3 – 5. We’ll be working with Rev. Captain Jackmaris, of the Anglican Church, who was at our program at St. Paul’s University in January.
Nairobi, Kenya. June 8. Frank will deliver a presentation on Empower for the Anglican clergy of the Nairobi diocese.
Limuru, Kenya. June 10 – 12. St. Paul’s University, NMNW presentation organized by Rev. Dr. Zablon Bundi at St. Paul’s (our host in January).
Please continue to pray for our work in Mozambique and Kenya. Please like our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter so that you’ll receive updates on our work.
