A variety of leaders from many denominations are currently gathering in Tanzania to learn from Empower leaders Wayne Pelly and Frank Tweheyo. The two are currently leading a conference in Dar es Salaam, the former capital and largest city in Tanzania.
Frank reported that the first day, 36 participants gathered, including pastors, priests, mothers union leaders and youth leaders from various churches in Dar, including Anglican, Moravian, Mennonite, Assemblies of God, Lutheran, Revival churches and others.
As usual, Frank and Wayne combined large group teaching with small group discussion. In these groups of men and women, participants dig into the Scriptures for themselves and find themselves learning new things. 
The conference is being hosted by Eliya Musa, who works with the American Embassy, helped put together this great gathering. His wife, Consoler Eliya Wilbert, is the founder and head of New Hope for Girls, and organization that looks after 39 girls who had been sexual slaves, street children or abandoned by families in one way or another. These live in Eliya and Consoler’s home. Her organization, New Hope for Girls, looks after more than 150 other girls throughout the nearby area as well.
Eliya helped lead the seminar and provided translation into Swahili, the local language.
Domnic Misolo, from Bondo, Kenya, founder and president of EFOGE (Ekklesia Foundation for Gender Education) and his assistant, Risper, are attending the seminar.
