Sally Bryant is going to Malawi Please keep her in your prayers

Sally Bryant is heading to Malawi yet again. Sally has been an Empower missionary since 2009 and  has a profound relationship with the people of Malawi. Please pray for her, her travel companions, and her host, Pastor Arnold Phiri. Please pray also for the people to whom she is ministering. As you read her report, you will recognize why they really need God’s word. She will travel on August 3, and asks for your prayers for a safe and productive journey. Here is a note from Sally:
One of the most encouraging aspects of our ministry is the opportunity to work alongside local pastors. Through biblical workshops, we explore what it truly means to be created in the image of God and how that truth shapes the way we value every human life. These conversations have profound implications for family life, marriage, and the dignity of women and children.

We have already witnessed the power of this teaching. In some villages, a deeply rooted cultural practice known as the “hyena practice” (read more about it here) involved hiring a man to sexually assault a young girl when she reached puberty as a supposed preparation for marriage. As pastors have come to understand the biblical teaching on human dignity and God’s design for men and women, they have courageously spoken against this practice. In village after village, this horrific practice has been abandoned. It is a powerful reminder that the gospel, and the New Man New Woman New Life seminar, transforms not only individual hearts but entire communities.
I am returning to Phalombe again this August. The NMNWNL material was eagerly received last year, with attendees sharing stories of broken relations and deep despair, which sometimes even resulted in suicide. I felt more spiritual warfare while there than I ever have before. The depth of the spiritual attack led me to believe that the Holy Spirit is preparing to do a great work. Please pray for protection for each person who attends the seminar, and for the Empower team.
Girls who are educated are less likely to marry too young.

In addition to the NMNWNL workshops, we are dedicating our second high school. The gospel witness is lived out every day at our school, located in a predominantly Muslim village. Every student has the opportunity to learn about Jesus, and our teachers intentionally demonstrate the love of Christ through the way they teach, encourage, and care for each child.

For many of these students, this is their first sustained encounter with Christians who embody the grace, compassion, and hope of the gospel.As we prepare to open our new high school, we are filled with anticipation. We are not simply constructing classrooms—we are investing in the next generation of Christian leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, and peacemakers.
