2010 Trip and Link to Photo Album
I am amazed at how comfortable I feel in Africa now. While I still dread the travel (such a long flight, even longer now I am in California) but no longer fear for my life as I did before my first trip. Part of this was due to this being my sixth trip, but a big part is due to our wonderful African partners, especially Frank Tweheyo (who was with me for the entire month long trip), Phobice Tweheyo, Margaret Kiswiriri, Medad Burunji, Robert and Anna; and Jovah Kamenteka in Uganda; Archbishop Bernard and his wife Matilde; Esron and Imelda, Pontien and Eularie, Seth and Yvette, and Dr. Pierre and Yvette Kziwera in Burundi; Pastor Bonface Machewere in Malawi. We added new friends this year as well: Pastor Francis, and Baraka Paulette in Rwanda; Pastor Laurent, and radio personality Gloriose in Bujumbura, Burundi; and Pastor Edith in Uganda. (Naming people from such a long trip is always dangerous — please forgive me if I didn’t include you). Also new friends from Sally and Aimee’s trip to Zambia and Malawi.
