Joyce Ouko, President of Empower/Uganda, along with her husband Julius, and Richard Orono, newly elected Vice President of Empower/Uganda, and his wife Sharon, teamed up to facilitate a training in Kapeeka, in Central Uganda, for 33 people, earlier this month.
“The need to redeem the Church and family is growing higher and higher every day,” Joyce wrote, noting that this provides opportunities for Empower to reach out.
Here are a few photos from that training.
Joyce also shared some of the testimonies from our recently completed training in northern Uganda, Arua, in early March.
“The Empower training is interactive, and allows people to face Truth from the Bible. It was very timely. New surprises create fresh desire for the Word of God; Scriptures are put in right position. Every couple needs it, it liberates the family.”—Pastor Stephen Atria, theologian.
“It is a a very rich, good and nourishing training.”—Pastor Israel Opio
“it is Kingdom building.”—Pastor Charles Okumu
“The training is Scripturally based, and liberates from the traditional mind of marriage which is 90% in northern Uganda.”—Mrs. Feta Agnes
“EIM ventures in the heart of God, God’s way of marriage. Many Churches need it, please allow more outreaches with this approach. Marriage programs are very rare in this region because of the influence of culture, it was a great blessing to the region.”—Pastor Alfred Matira
“The training is Bible discovery, and gives ability to produce into others, since culture does not favor women, this teaching corrects culture.”—Pastor Jema John (who is planning to organize a marriage fellowship where he can continue to share what he’s learned).
“Families are already redeemed right from the training. We are hearing testimonies of healing from the past wounds are being shared.”—Mrs. Jema Harriet
