Leader’s letter tells of Empower’s impact "Knowledge is power!"

We are always delighted and encouraged to hear about the impact of Empower’s training. We recently received this letter affirming, as he says, “Knowledge is power!” Your support makes this sort of transformation possible. Read and be encouraged! (edited for clarity)

To Dr. Carrie A. Miles, receive warm Christian greetings in Jesus’ name.

I’m Rev. James Njoroge Mbugua, an ordained Priest in the Anglican Church of Kenya, Diocese of Meru. I attended your trainings at St. Paul’s University on New Man, New Woman, New Life in June and September of 2022.

The round table meeting in Kenya

I’m sincerely so grateful for the training I achieved. Your training was marvelous!!

Dr. Carrie may Almighty God bless you, your family and your organization, Empower International abundantly.

Knowledge is power!

I feel so equipped and so armed with information and I’m so glad to inform you that, I have already started educating and training  members of my Parish (ACK Kaathi Parish), where I serve four churches.

And as the mission statement of your ministry states, “Combating the root cause of abuse, abandonment and injustice, so that families can be healed, communities restored and culture transformed,” I have started programs of training different categories of people in my Parish:

  • Church leaders and Church members: so that they can help me to train more and more people.
  • Couples: on True Submission, Oneness and Love; how everything goes on well and couples live happily; with true love (Agape love), true submission is possible.
  • Youths: I have taken it upon myself to train the Youths especially girls on  the importance of education so that they can empower themselves in future; dangers of early marriages.

I train and encourage couples to apply Agape love in every circumstance, knowing that then they’ll be able to solve every challenge they face. With couples being trained on LOVE, TRUE SUBMISSION and ONENESS, they will train their children, and this will definitely spread to the communities.

If we get it right at the family level, then the challenges facing communities will be solved eg abuse, gender-based violence and injustices.

The knowledge I achieved through your training, is helping me to train people on how to eliminate social antagonisms.

Girls deserve protection–Empower training helps communities change.

In the region I serve, we also face another terrible problem: female genital (FGM), whereby, girls are forcefully CIRCUMCISED against their will. Immediately after girls complete their primary school education, circumcisers are ready to mutilate them – It is so pathetic to say the least.

Women are not spared either.

The uncircumcised women, especially those from communities that do not practice FGM and get married there, are usually attacked while going to fetch firewood in the forests or going to draw water from the river, and are carried shoulder-high to the circumcisers.

With the training we are offering to the communities, I’m sure this problem will definitely be eliminated and the girls and women in Meru region will be rescued from this barbaric practice.

We are trying to solve the problem from the root–the family.

With love and oneness in the family, parents will not let their daughters be mutilated.

Dr. Carrie I will keep on updating you on the trainings we are offering to our church members and the community at large.

Once again THANK YOU so much for the wonderful training you gave us.

May Almighty God bless you abundantly.
